Welcome back to the Book Report where I'll bring you some news bites from around the world of comics and com ic book related entertainment. Today's news is all over the place so lets get to the stories of the week.
It looks like they are officially screwing up the DBZ movie, that’s according to io9.com that has this photo of James Marsters as Piccolo who looks more like a vampire than the green alien from another planet. Let’s be honest, who thought this movie would go well?
The Dark Knight finally broke the $500 Million dollar mark, bringing the film within striking distance of Titanic for the most all time. It looks like this total will guarantee at least another go round for Christopher Nolan and company.
It looks like the next TMNT movie go back to being live action according to io9.com. The site reports that the original director Steve Barron has been tapped for a reimagining of the story that could possibly focus on the origin of The Shredder.
This is not exactly comic book news but still funny, according to nationalpost.com a Canadian Football League player was fined by the lead for donning a Spider-Man mask while celebrating a touchdown. Here’s a still of our pal.
Brad Meltzer is leading a group of comic book creators in an effort to save Superman creator Jerry Siegel’s childhood home. Meltzer has launched a campaign with OrdinaryPeopleChangeTheWorld.com that will sell art work and memorabilia in an effort to raise the $50,000 needed to repair the outside of the house. One of the prizes being auctioned off is a walk on role for Heroes.
So it looks like the new Chrome web browser from Google is advertised via comic book, again proving that comics aren’t just a geek sub culture anymore. Google hopes that the comic will make all the features Chrome offers easier for new users to understand.
