Whether they have made a huge splash or are part of something massive, these ten people (in no particular order) are having quite a year so far. With stories like Battle for the Cowl coming down the pike, this is a perfect time to look at the various series through their biggest characters. So lets have look shall we?
Nightwing (Battle for the Cowl)

Dick Grayson is the center piece for Battle of the Cowl (we have got to come up with an acronym or something) and he doesn’t even know it. Right now Gotham is in disarray and only Nightwing and the Network of heroes can turn the tide that the Black Mask has started. Even though there is someone out their claiming the mantle of the Bat, Dick won’t let that prize go easily.
Bold Prediction: Look for Dick to finally take the mantle of the Bat for himself.
Wolverine (pick a series)

The hardest working man in fiction makes another list. Thanks to his son falling in with Norman Osborn Logan now has a vested interest in the outcome of Dark Reign. My guess is that is what will keep him on the Avengers for a while longer. He’s also running around in the future with Cable or wherever Cable happens to be right now. I believe the upcoming story is called Messiah War and should be the next big X-Men crossover.
Bold Prediction: Look out Daken, daddy will be home to spank you soon enough.
Spider-Man (Character Assassination)

Spider-Man may not survive his current series that is running a little late. Detained by police and framed for a series of murders things are not looking up for the wall crawler. Add to that the fact that Spider-Man is knee deep in Dark Reign and we have a busy year for Peter Parker. Plus all this is still going down with Brand New Day as a back drop.
Bold Prediction: Awful things will continue to happen to Marvels flagship character ; )
Havok (War of Kings)

Alex Summers has had a rough year, stuck in outer space with his deluded brother and killer of his own father Gabriel. He and the Starjammers are fighting a losing battle against Gabriel and the entire Shiar Empire. Sadly it doesn’t look like help is on the way as the team finds itself in the crossfire between the Shiar and the Kree who are now led by Black Bolt.
Bold Prediction: Alex will eventually kill Gabriel for killing Corsair, but still be terribly unhappy with his psycho girlfriend.
Superman (World of New Krypton)

The big blue bomber is a general now, except he’s playing for the wrong team. Is he an infiltrator, spying on his own people or is he really changing sides? The Kryptonians have set aside their own planet that is also orbiting the sun, making them the most powerful race in the solar system. The earth is going ape shit knowing that the Kryptonians don’t respect them and could invade at any time. It doesn’t help that Superman is on the side of the Kryptonians and their leader General Zod.
Bold Prediction: Superman will trick all the Kryptonians into getting hit with red Kryponite while he hides in the sun.
Jimmy Woo (Dark Reign)

T
he leader of the Agents of Atlas is one smart devil. Surrounding himself with some of the most powerful people on earth and going up against Norman Osborn is just the tip of the iceberg. Jimmy was a big time SHIELD agent in the 1950’s before he was severely injured during a mission that left him almost brain dead. His right hand gorilla came though and revived him just in time to take up the mantle of leadership over Yellow Claws organization.
Bold Prediction: I think that Woo will be the catalyst for a SHIELD rebirth of sorts.
Hal Jordan (Blackest Night)

The man with no fear is here ladies and gentlemen. Hal Jordan just survived the abysmal Final Crisis and is gearing up to save DC with Blackest Night. The GL Corps. Is in a bunch of trouble as all these new Lanterns are coming out of the woodwork. It’s anyone’s guess as to how this series will pan out.
Bold Prediction: Hal Jordan will witness a lot of death and destruction, and likely be tested like he never has been before.
Norman Osborn (Dark Reign)

Norman has come a long way from the pages of Amazing Spider-Man as just another of Peters hapless villains. The architect of Dark Reign is the bad guy of the year so far and that doesn’t look to change anytime soon. Everything has been going in Osborn’s favor so far, but the other shoe has to drop eventually… right?
Bold Prediction: Somehow Norman avoids jail time when this series ends, freeing him to renew his war against Spider-Man.
Cable (Messiah Complex/War)

This guy is the ultimate babysitter to say the least. The toughest hombre from the future ever is having quite a time raising the vaguely familiar little red head and key to saving the future. This guy has to deal with all ki9nds of crap and Bishop to boot. It’s a good thing he has his father’s blessings.
Bold Prediction: Cable is the Messiah man, not the red head.
Scarlet Witch (Dark Reign)

It’s true, she has returned to the fold and looks to be more powerful than ever. She is responsible for putting an Avengers team together that just might save the world. She is easily the biggest wild card IN Marvel Comics and her return so soon begs a lot of questions. Plus, how will they ever resolve the whole ‘no more mutants’ thing she did?
Bold Prediction: The Scarlet Witch will never ever be ‘back’ to the way she was before.
