On March 3rd and the 24th Warner Premiers will be releasing special DVD/Blu-Rays for all you Watchmen fans out there. Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter and The Complete Motion Comic are both designed to enhance your movie going experience.
On March 24th fans can get their hands on The Black Freighter & Under the Hood. A retelling of the comic within the comic story from the pages of Watchmen, The Black Freighter is a side story that seems unrelated at first, but runs strangely parallel to the events in the main story. The story is narrated by none other than Gerard Butler and is written by Alex Tse and Zack Snyder.
Included with the Black Freighter will be Under the Hood another story that runs parallel to the comic. It was a cool side story that chronicled the lives of the original Minutemen and now you can see that story come to life before your eyes on Blu-Ray or DVD. Afew of the actors from the film make appearances in this film that is directed by Eric Matthies and written by Hans Rodionoff.
Earlier in the month of March, the third to be exact, Watchmen the Motion Comic will become available to the public. This will give fans of the book a chance to see the story unfold in a new and imaginative way.
Overseen by Watchmen illustrator Dave Gibbons the entire story is collected in 12 parts for this DVD/Blu-Ray. The original drawings have been redone with motion, voice and sound to bring the story to life. This is a collection of the 12 thirty minute chapters that were originally available via iTunes.
The 2-disc set includes almost 6 hours of content plus an added incentive in the form of Movie Cash. The Movie Cash is good for $7.50 off a movie ticket for Watchmen which opens (for certain) March 6th. The Blu-Ray version has an exclusive first look at the film with a scene from the movie itself. Be on the lookout for a special feature on Wonder Woman as well.
Be sure to pick up both of these special DVD/Blu-Rays when they come out in March.
