Vertigo is revealing three new original graphic novels today, courtesy of their Graphic Content blog, one at a time as the day moves forward. What does that mean? It means that you keep this page open and refresh maniacally until your boss catches you.
First up is the announcement of Fables: Werewolves of the Heartland, written by Fables creator/guru Bill Willingham with art from Craig Hamilton and Jim Fern. Bigby Wolf is a favorite character of many Fables fans, so you'll be excited to hear that he takes front and center here, as he tries to find a new home for Fabletown. The non-final cover image is below.
UPDATE 1: Next up is the exciting announcement of another entry into Vertigo Crime, this time from crime novelist Denise Mina, marking her first foray into comic books. Featuring art from Antonio Fuso, A Sickness in the Family takes a look at a family that is bent on destroying themselves. Vertigo says, "Sometimes the greatest mysteries, and the most frightening horrors, occur right at home". I think this cover image says it all.
UPDATE 2: The final announcement of today is Sarah Glidden's How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less, an autobiographical account of the author's travels as a young Jewish woman through Israel. Yet another exciting entry into Vertigo's lexicon. Enjoy the non-final cover below!
Stay tuned throughout the day for more announcements!
