It is a very rare film project that sees a collaborative effort between two of Hollywood's top composers. In fact it has happened only once in recent history, and that was for Batman Begins in 2005. Otherwise, you'd have to go back to Newman and Herrmann's The Egyptian in 1950. Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean) and James Newton Howard (The Village, Michael Clayton) return for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight to continue exploring his Batman universe with their music.
