With the new alien-abduction thriller The Fourth Kind (The Fourth Kind - Trailer) hitting theaters on November 6, we've put together a collection of the Top 10 Alien Abductions on film. So put on your tinfoil hats and get ready for probing, because this ride is full of spooky surprises!

Close Encounters Of The 3rd Kind

This Steven Speilberg flick about a series of UFO sighings and the psychic connection they induce among the people who witness them was one of the most riveting alien abduction films ever made. Repairman Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfus) experiences something extraordinary, which sets a chain of events in motion that leads to contact with an advanced race of aliens. Spectacular special effects, John Williams' outstanding score and winning performances from Dreyfuss, Teri Garr, Melinda Dillion and legendary director Francois Truffaut in the role of Lacombe made movie magic that still holds up in today's digital-effects landscape.

Incident At Roswell

In what's billed as a nearly exact retelling of actual events, Incident at Roswell tells the tale of a New Mexico farmer who finds strange crash wreckage on his farm. He reports it to the local Air Force base, at which point the military quickly quarrantines the area. An alien spacecraft is found, as well as a handful of aliens, all of which are dead - except one. Despite a rapid cover-up, with "it's just a weather balloon" being the lead excuse, the event marked the rise of the UFO phenomena in the following decades.

Taken

Not to be confused with the recent Liam Neeson kidnapping film of the same name, Taken centers on three families over the span of five decades and four generations. Alien abductions during wartime, the Roswell incident, shadow government conspiracies, alien impregnations and more are woven into this well-crafted Sci-Fi Channel mini-series. Steven Spielberg served as executive producer for the production, which outlines alien plans to create a human/alien hybrid. It only makes sense that the hybrid is played by Dakota Fanning.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

In Santa Mira, CA, people are acting very strangely. Dr. Miles Binnell slowly unravels the bizarre mystery that plagues the town, discovering the terrifying secrets these strange townsfolk are hiding. Alien plant-like pods are systematically taking control of the bodies of the townspeople when they fall asleep. Desperate to stay awake, McCarthy must destroy the alien race before it destroys his town - and the rest of the world. This film spawned several cheap copycat ripoffs, but nothing beats the original.

Fire In The Sky

In 1975, Travis Walton and several of his co-workers reportedly witnessed a UFO in the woods on their way home from work. Travis' curiosity came at a terrible cost when the UFO knocked him unconscious with a blue beam of light. His friends drove away in a panic, returning later to find him gone. For five days Travis was missing, and when he returned he had a story as terrifying and fascinating as any in alien abduction history. Fire In The Sky is reportedly a true story, taken from actual events that happened a generation ago.
