When they announced back in April that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton would be directing an adaptation of the DC Comics character Lobo, the first thing we said was that Dwayne Johnson, who co-starred in that family film, was inevitably going to be tied to the project. Well, it turns out we were right: the wrestler-turned-actor has confirmed via his Twitter account that he is indeed in talks with Peyton and producing Joel Silver about playing the ultraviolent alien bounty hunter.
Quoth The Rock: "Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.."
That could indeed be very fun. Very few actors, particularly high-profile stars, would be able to fill the Czarnian's shoes (not to mention his pecs) on a purely physical level, and even fewer have demonstrated the sense of humor necessary to make the decadent antihero as lovable as he would need to be to carry his own motion picture. Needless to say, we approve.
CraveOnline will be back with more Lobo news after a pop a berry.
