Mysonne beats out five other rappers for cash and an SRC contract

Loud.com has announced the winner of their Streets Don't Lie contest, in which six aspiring emcees submitted videos for their latest singles in hopes of winning a contract with SRC Records.

Fans submitted their votes for competing entries from West Coast buzzmaker Fashawn,  Big Lou, The Jacka, Snyp Life, Mysonne and Tone Trump by texting the numbers featured in the corresponding videos.

Mysonne, a rising rap name in the late 90's, won with his pop-heavy track "Hmmm". The artist, who turned his life around after doing 7 years in jail (he was released in 2006), hit the streets hard during the contest to win votes for himself, and it appears to have paid off - he won by about 150 votes.

The contest, in which Loud.com partnered with DJBooth.net and five other high-profile hip-hop sites, promised the winner a record deal and $100,000. iTunes did a front page promotion on the contest as well, in which :oud.com shot a video for each song and released them to the public on the same day for a week.
