There's an increasingly hostile climate brewing in the Hip-Hop/R&B scene these days, given the fact that everybody's wallets are thinner and people are buying less music - so there's little to no room for musical errors among the high-profile names out there. According to VladTV's Star & Buc Wild, by default this means that Drake, the latest industry darling on high exposure, must now be dismissed.
Drake, aka "Degrassi" TV alum Aubrey Graham, was sidelined early on the “America’s Most Wanted” tour, nursing a torn ACL (one of the main ligaments of the knee) that prevented him from doing a full set. He tried to stick it out, however, and during the tour’s stop in Camden, N.J., on Friday the budding star hit a bad one during his hit “Best I Ever Had” - with a spin that reaggravated the injury, he dropped to the floor like a sack of overrated douche potatoes.
In their latest VladTV video installment, Star & Buc deflate the hype balloon on this rising star. Not buying into the heavily-sponsored racket, they tell Drake flat-out that his album won't go platinum, but gold - and only because the label's going to buy enough copies to make it so. "It's an old trick," Star explains dismissively, in the piercingly snide way he's so good at executing.
See for yourself:
They take him to task for being down with the Young Money crew, reminding him that "Weezy plays that kissing game," referring to some highly questionable pics that turned up showing Lil' Wayne in a liplock with another man.
"You're gonna flop, man. Drake is a loser, I assure you," they tell the audience. As brutal as the clip is, I can't say I disagree.
