Jackass 2.5 Online - Free!
Knoxville, Margera & co. skip theatrical release and head to DVD.

For those of you suffering from a tragic shortage of man-ass, paper-cuts and horse-jizz chugging this holiday season, I have great news! Starting next Wednesday, you’ll be able to see Jackass 2.5 online for free, courtesy of Blockbuster Inc. The 64-minute film will be offered beginning Dec. 19, but will only be available free of charge until the end of the year, when it will move to iTunes, pay-per-view and DVD.

Under most circumstances, it would be nearly impossible for a movie studio to reap any profits from a free internet movie, but production costs on 2.5 were minimal, due to the fact that the film consists mostly of outtakes and unseen footage from the previous two films. "The new material includes opening and closing sequences and documentary-style interviews, mainly about what did not work," said director Jeff Tremaine, but Jackass fans need not worry about quality content: “There’s more vomiting, nudity and defecation, the stuff that consumers really want,” said a studio executive who asked not to be named. Several new bits were filmed for Jackass 2.5, including the "Human Golf Tee," which involves Bam Margera's… uh, bits n’ pieces being used as, you guessed it, a golf tee, as well as an eyewitness account of Margera firing a bazooka…in his family's kitchen.

Since it’s premiere in 2000, Jackass has been one of MTV's most popular shows, sparking an almost endless number of spin-off shows including Viva La Bam, Wildboyz, Homewrecker, Dr. Steve-O, and Blastazoid. Two previous Jackass films have been produced since 2002, both extremely successful.

The release of Jackass 2.5 will also kick off a semi-permanent online presence for the Jackass crew, who plan to regularly release new content for users of the newly developed jackassworld.com beginning February 9th.
