Aaron McGruder's award winning comic strip turned animated series has collected the entire second season uncut and uncensored into a three disc box set due to hit stores on June 10th.

One of the jewels of adult swims nightly line up The Boondocks is provocative and edgy, and on top of that the show is hysterical. With voice talent by Regina King, John Witherspoon, Cedric Yarbrough, Jill Talley, Gabby Soleil, and Gary Anthony Williams the show just never lets you down. The second season will also feature special guests like Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lil Wayne, Cedric the Entertainer, Katt Williams and Busta Rhymes.

The highlight of the second season had to be the Return of Colonel Stinkmeaner, where the spirit of the blind old curmudgeon came back from hell and possessed the body of the Freeman families neighbor Tom. The dialog is fantastic and the action was right out of a good anime, not to mention Cedric Yarbrough working double time as the voice of both Stinkmeaner and Tom. Not only will purchasers get that classic episode but the DVD has a couple of special bonuses as well.

The DVD set will come with two exclusive bonus episodes that did not air on national television. ‘The Hunger Strike’ which features guest stars Cee-Lo, Donald Faison, Tavis Smiley, and Debra Wilson. The other episode is called ‘The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show’ and will feature the guest voices of Donald Faison and Debra Wilson.

The adventures of the Freeman family in suburbia are filled to the brim with hijinks and countless memorable moments, a lot of which can’t be repeated at the water cooler. The show is raw and unapologetic with a political angle without any particular slant. This is one of the few shows where everybody gets it evenly and Aaron McGruder proves that you can be socially conscious and funny at the same time.

The DVD hits stores on June 10th and will retail for about $49.95, be sure to get it.
