Following the success of "Zombieland," screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese jumped over to the adaptation of Marvel Comics' "Deadpool," which is expected to feature Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the title character. But apparently, Wernick and Reese are now signed to bring an even wilder comic book character to life.
Deadline is reporting that Wernick and Reese will write "Cowboy Ninja Viking" for Disney, based upon the comic of the same name by AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo.
Originally published in 2009 by Image Comics, "Cowboy Ninja Viking" takes place in a world in which Multiple Personality Disorder patients were recruited to become black ops covert agents and assassins. One of the patients is given the skills and personalities of a Cowboy, a Ninja and a Viking, which he uses to take on the organization that created him as well as his fellow "Triplets."

The "Cowboy Ninja Viking" comic is also notable for its oversized "Golden Age" format and is is currently an ongoing series.
Wernick and Reese have previously worked together on two seasons of "The Joe Schmo Show" and "Invasion Iowa" for Spike TV as well as the script for "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." Additionally, the pair have collaborated on a number of pilots and unaired series including "The Tomatoes" for MTV and a comedy pilot with Ol' Dirty Bastard (ODB) of the Wu Tang Clan prior to the rapper's demise.
The creative duo are also attached to write and produce "Earth Versus Moon" for Universal Pictures.
