News about actor Randy’s Quaid’s arrest has spread like wild fire – he and his wife Avi were taken into Canadian police custody a few days ago for being in violation of the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and owing a large amount of money to a hotel that they never paid (they apparently also caused extensive damage to a separate property).

Meanwhile, Dog the Bounty Hunter (real name Duane Chapman) has recently publicly expressed “concern” for the fledging actor, offering his help. "I want to hear the story," Chapman said in an interview with The Vancouver Sun. "We've heard he's out. It is a good opportunity. I want to talk to him. This is not like him. Something is up and we need to get to the bottom of it." He said he won’t actually “hunt down” the actor but he’d like to hear Quaid out.

According to ABC News, the troubled duo have both applied for refugee status in Canada saying that they think their lives are at risk if they don’t receive help – they believe they are the target of a secret underground group that murders celebrities, including the likes of Heath Ledger and David Carradine. "Hollywood is murdering its movie stars," ABC reported Evi Quaid said in Vancouver last week. “We fear our lives are in danger.”

Randy Quaid, brother of fellow actor Dennis Quaid, is well-known for his roles in “Christmas Vacation,” “Kingpin,” and for appearing in several seasons of “Saturday Night Live.”

Quaid and his wife had to each post a $10,000 bond as well as promise to attend their next hearing, which will take place on Thursday.
