Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell are probably going to die next year.
On the big screen, that is. (But if they actually do die 2011, boy will our face be red.)
Both actresses have lined up cameos in the fourth installment of Wes Craven’s Scream franchise. The report showed up this morning courtesy of USA Today and was later confirmed in a press release from Dimension Films.
Given the original Scream’s famous Psycho-inspired opening wherein a major celebrity (Drew Barrymore) is killed off simply for the shock value, the suspicion seems to be that Bell and Paquin will serve a similar purpose at the start of Scream 4.
Meanwhile, Heat Vision reports that the script for the film (shooting now through September 24th in Ann Arbor, Michigan) currently clocks in at a staggering 140 pages. Whether or not that includes alternate scenes to keep the ending a surprise remains to be seen, but it’s probably a safe bet that the Blu-ray is going to have a pretty healthy deleted scenes section.
Previous Scream films have included cameos ranging from Omar Epps and Jada Pinkett Smith in Scream 2’s opening movie-within-a-movie Stab to Jay and Silent Bob as the characters themselves, not as Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes in Scream 3. Maybe the likelihood of Sookie Stackhouse and Veronica Mars appearing isn’t so crazy after all…
