How Guillermo Del Toro juggles ten million projects is anyone's guess but, if you only know the artist from films like Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy, it's high time you checked out his novel trilogy, starting with The Strain. Written alongside Chuck Hogan, the first book came out last year and will be hitting paperback on June 29th, paving the way for the second book in the series, The Fall, on September 29th.
The series offers Del Toro's take on the vampire mythos, treating a modern day spread of vampires as a viral outbreak, balancing the narrative in both science fiction and fantasy horror. To help promote the series, Del Toro had certain scenes shot for the web. Check out storyboard images for The Strain's jail scene below, followed by the video of the finished product.
