Keanu Reeves paternity suit dismissed

He did not father the four children of a Canadian woman.

Duuuuude, did you hear what happened to Ted? It’s, like, totally gnarly. Canadian cult classic star Keanu Reeves, known for his lead roles in the “Bill and Ted” big-screen series as well as blockbusters like “Matrix” and “Speed,” was facing an Ontario paternity suit brought against him by Karen Sala, who claimed the actor had fathered her four children.

Despite the fact that DNA tests had already proved that Reeves was not related to Sala’s kids (who are now grown-ups between the ages of 21 and 25), Sala disputed the results and filed a paternity suit against the actor (The Canadian Press reported that she went so far as accusing Reeves of using hypnosis to change the outcome of the DNA testing). Sala was hoping to receive an unbelievable $3 million a month in spousal support as well as $150,000 a month in retroactive child support. She stated in court that she knew, undoubtedly, that Reeves was the biological father of her four children. However, Barrie judge Fred Graham dismissed the case last Thursday.

"The applicant's evidence is so incredible that it is not capable of acceptance by any reasonable trier of fact. A trial in this case would be a waste of limited judicial resources,” the judge said. “It is evident that she [Sala] believes her allegations even though they are patently unbelievable to an objective observer."

Reeves has vehemently denied knowing Sala since the ordeal got underway last year. His lawyer has not yet stated whether the actor will sue Sala for compensation of his legal fees.
