Each and every week dozens of DVDs hit the shelves, and many of them get lost in the mix. CraveOnline has compiled a list of all the newest DVD releases, with a special emphasis on a few worth keeping an eye out for.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (Blu-ray) (2-disc deluxe edition)

The third installment in the The Mummy series sends the action off to China, where the discovery of an ancient emperor's elaborate tomb becomes the obsession of Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford), young archaeologist and son of Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and his wife Evelyn (Maria Bello, taking over the role from Rachel Weisz). Too bad for the happy family, a curse that turned the emperor (Jet Li) and his army into terra cotta warriors buried for centuries is lifted, and the old guy prepares for world domination through gaining immortality at Shangri La.

The action leads to an inevitable showdown between two armies of mummies in a Chinese desert. Michelle Yeoh, Russell Wong, and Liam Cunningham, John Hannah offer solid support, but in the end we're dealing with a Brendan Fraser vehicle. No shame if you can't get past that little detail.
Generation Kill

Based on the best-seller by Evan Wright, Generation Kill is a stark and vividly detailed 7 part HBO mini-series that offers an intimate portrait of the first 40 days of the Iraq war. It's told from the perspective of the Marines of the First Recon Battalion, young Marines pushed to their physical and emotional limits in the heart of Baghdad during those first crucial weeks.

The complications of a technologically-precise war, begun with veiled pretense and agenda, set the stage for problems and tragedy unforeseen in modern history.

Many of the problems that arise are due to the unwieldy military bureaucracy the Marines encounter at every turn - it becomes almost too much when faced with "the challenges of over-zealous and incompetent commanding officers, ever-changing rules of engagement, a non-existent strategy, severe deficiencies in necessary armor and supplies, and an enemy they don’t understand."

"Generation Kill is a humorous and frightening first hand account of these remarkable men, of the personal toll of victory, and of the brutality, camaraderie and bureaucracy of a new American war. It is a profoundly insightful and realistic look at the risk, costs and ultimately, the failures of the war"

The film is written and produced by Emmy-award winner David Simon (the Wire), as well as the award-winning George Faber (Elizabeth I).
The A-Team: Season One

If you were a kid born between 1970 and 1978, the A-Team was likely a staple of your televised upbringing. And if you loved the show nearly as much as I did, the following words should make your spine tingle:

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

This re-release of Season One of "The A-Team" has thankfully fixed the problems wore down the previous offering, such as faded color and inferior sound. It's a must for any 80's TV junkie lookin for a taste of pure badass.
