These are typically low budget affairs made by fanatical fans of a particular movie who are armed only with lots of imagination and a shaky camcorder. There are however a number of higher end films out there which are being done for the sheer love of it all, and one of those has to be , a Lord of the Rings fan film. |
This particular film has been in production on and off since late 2005. It will be available for free download when finally completed and is from the creative mind of UK-based Kate Madison and Actors at Work Productions. It is being shot in several locations around the United Kingdom, including a reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village.
The story is sort of a prequel to the life of Aragon, which was played by Viggo Mortensen in the big budget New Line feature films. You can't expect big name talent in the case of Born of Hope, but the plot looks interesting nonetheless. It will chronicle the lives of Aragon's people, the Dunedian, just at the start of Aragon's life. In particular Born of Hope will focus on the relationship of Aragon's parents, Arathorn and Gilraen. Expect Orcs, battle scenes and some great costumes.
