The show picks up where Terminator 2: Judgement Day leaves off: Sarah and John are trying to piece their lives back together, as criminal fugitives and targets of a constantly evolving technological threat focused on the complete destruction of mankind. John must learn to balance his life as a regular high-school kid with the knowledge that he’s the potential leader of the resistance against the machines. His only friend is a girl named Cameron (Summer Glau), who has a few secrets of her own. She comes to serve as protector to Sarah and John, as John learns what it takes to become leader he will need to be.
