The above quote should have been the introduction to Jackass Number 2, which is one of the crudest films you will ever see that was not directed by John Waters or starring Sacha Baron Cohen. The film is also funny as hell. Not only does J2 surpass the original film in funny moments and “holy shit, he’s gonna die” moments, but it also exceeds in the depictions of bodily fluids. And if you thought the movie was gross, the unrated version of the film goes well beyond the the version shown in theaters.
There are two ways to look at Jackass. The first is as a mature adult. The adult wonders what is so wrong in the world that could create a film about guys who risk their lives engaging in dangerous and disgusting stunts and pranks. The other way to look at Jackass is to see it as the most humorous display of juvenile behavior ever captured on film. Segments in the film include a dildo hitting Bam in the ass, Steve-O becoming Shark bait and lots of Wild Boyz inspired dealings with dangerous animals. One of the gems is a hilarious scene dealing with Terrorism that features Broken Lizard member, Jay Chandrasekhar
I was really amazed with the amount of previously unseen footage on the DVD. I interviewed Steve-O earlier this year and he said there were forty minutes of footage that did not make the film, and he was not kidding. There are 29 additional segments and 16 deleted scenes. The making of Jackass Number documentary is interesting as it shows the evolution of some of the segments.
Other extras include the music video for Chris Pontius’s “Karazy”, minus the editing. Expect to see Wee Man naked through most of the video. There are 17 TV and promotional spots and one easy to find Easter Egg, which is an alternate version of the internet teaser trailer. In the alternate version of the teaser expect to see several horrific displays of bodily fluids. There are also some spots for MTV’s VMS included on the disc.
So if you don’t mind seeing a grown man drink horse semen or a faux senior citizen walking around with his testicles hanging out of his shorts or a beer enema; Then this may be the movie for you. Jackass Number 2 is funny, scary, gross and ultimately entertaining. Did I mention the soundtrack is great too?
