Pictures has optioned Julie Kenner's upcoming novel, Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom, for Chris Columbus and Michael Barnathan's 1492 Pictures, and hired Kevin and Dan Hageman to adapt the screenplay. Variety says "Carpe Demon" is the story of a stay-at-home mother who is charged with cleaning up her demon-ridden small town. The novel is scheduled for publication July 5 as a Berkley trade paperback
