The Weekly Crave Wrap-Up – 4/15/11

 

The week kicked off with a surprise Sunday casting announcement: Michael Shannon has joined Zach Snyder's Superman reboot as General Zod and the film received its official title, Man of Steel.

A day later, we were treated to video of Shannon's thoughts on the role and, later in the week, thoughts from Superman's new Earth-mother, Diane Lane, suggesting that the film will, indeed, include the origin of the Man of Tomorrow. Add to that rumors of a second Kryptonian villain, Faora and a rebooted Krypton and you've got a pretty super week. 

Crave Online, meanwhile, takes a look at ten other villains who could have been the Man of Steel focus.

 

Shock Till You Drop has the first teaser trailer for Hammer Film's The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe.

The first episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy hit the web. Also, the first look at Baraka has since been revealed. CraveOnline, meanwhile, has an interview with series star Michael Jai white.

With the film moving into domestic release this weekend and already a hit internationally, Rio director Carlos Saldanha spoke with ComingSoon.net about the film.

The Dark Night Rises has added a ton of supporting cast and Nestor Carbonell will be returning as Gotham City's mayor. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Animation may be planning to adapt Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and Batman Live made a very colorful debut.

Sylvester Stallone has revealed that Walter Hill will direct his comic book adaptation Head Shot.

 

The Hobbit is moving right along with production having started in New Zealand.
