As The Hobbit continues shooting in New Zealand, so does Peter Jackson continue adding to his cast. This weekend, the Meet the Feebles director announced that – as has long been rumored – Orlando Bloom will be reprising the role of dreamy elf archer Legolas Greenleaf in The Hobbit. Since elves live, like, a ridiculously long time in Tolkien's Middle Earth it should be easy to include him in the new film, although since he wasn't actually in the book it seems unlikely that his appearance will amount to much more than a cameo, unless Jackson's playing it fast and loose this time.
Quoth the Jackson: "Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I'm excited to announce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older—and he doesn’t! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."

Okay, make that 13.324.
Crave Online will be back with more The Hobbit news shortly. Maybe they'll finally find room for Tom Bombadil while they're at it.
