Kurt Johnstad Rewriting 'Man of Steel'

David Goyer's busy with Godzilla, so Zack Snyder's getting his own 300 co-writer to take his place.

Interesting dust-up over at the Man of Steel offices: David Goyer is out as a screenwriter, and Kurt Johnstad is in. We have no reason to believe that there was any ill-will involved in Goyer's departure (he's probably just too busy writing Godzilla at the moment), but according to Movie Hole - which had the exclusive - it's a done deal.

Goyer of course has his comic book movie stripes, having written Blade and co-written all of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies. But Kurt Johnstad ain't no slouch either: he co-wrote 300 with Man of Steel director Zack Snyder, and is co-writing the new prequel 300: Battle of Artemisia with Snyder for its new director, Noam Murro. Christopher Nolan's brother Jonathan also reportedly took a stab at the screenplay for Man of Steel, giving the film one heck of a pedigree.

CRAVE Online will be back with more Man of Steel news after we figure out if that thing up in the sky is a bird or a plane or not.
