Fifteen-year-old Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin first warmed your hearts in Little Miss Sunshine, but now she's planning to do something else altogether to your hearts in Virgin Mary, a teen sex romp about a girl who promises to sleep with her best male friend if they're both virgins when they turn eighteen. Now, Breslin is a talented young actress who will most certainly find increasingly adult roles as she grows up, but if you're anything like us, your first reaction to this news was the following:
Variety reports that Virgin Mary will be the second feature film from writer/director Beth Schacter after her 2007 teen romance drama Normal Adolescent Behavior, which starred the likes of Amber Tamblyn and Daryl Sabara. Sabara will be joining the cast of Virgin Mary, along with Valentine's Day's Carter Jenkins and Akeelah and the Bee's Keke Palmer, who will play Breslin's (female) best friend.
Since the odds of Breslin and Jenkins' characters being born on the same day are limited (365.25 to 1, by our count), we look forward to the part of the film where Breslin turn eighteen first and Jenkins spends months desperately trying to c***block her at every turn so he'll get his big chance.
Breslin has already grown up a bit on-screen, appearing in more mature roles in the likes of Zombieland and the upcoming independent drama Janie Jones, but we're pretty sure this will mark the first time when the young actress will play a role that requires any kind of actual "sexiness" from her. What do you think? Has the time come or will it be kind of creepy for you, since we've only seen her in childlike roles to date?
CraveOnline will be back with more Virgin Mary news after we have a serious talk with our children.
