Okay, so I didn't go to New York Comic Con this year. I was busy, okay? But it's okay, I'm paying for it now. Apparently new Avengers footage screened at the convention, and producer Kevin Feige was on hand to tease new developments in the Marvel Studios lineup.
First, that footage: apparently they screened a scene where Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) is recruited to join The Avengers by The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in India. Apparently the Cosmic Cube, which the movie seems to call The Tesseract, gives off gamma radiation, and Bruce Banner is the world's leadest expert on just that very thing. Apparently Banner hasn't turned into The Hulk in two years, which helps narrow down the chronology of the Marvel movies thus far.
Other news of note:
When asked whether The Avengers will have a post-credits stinger like all the rest of the Marvel Studios efforts thus far, he stated the following: "It’s a nice tradition, and I like traditions, so I think we’ll keep that up."
As for Iron Man 3: "It’s the first of what we refer to Phase Two of this Avengers Assemble talk, which will lead to an ‘Avengers 2.’ Those movies will be a part of that."
"Those movies" that he's talking about? Those would be The Guardians of the Galaxy and The Inhumans.
Thanks to Collider and a large number of other internet websites for the updates. CraveOnline Film will be back with more Avengers 2, Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans news after we punch ourselves for not going.
