
Two years ago, Hans Zimmer said he was not going to compose the score for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. He equated rewriting John Williams's iconic score for Superman: The Movie with "rewriting Beethoven's ninth" and we couldn't really blame him for that. Well, he's changed his mind. Variety now reports that the Academy Award-winning composer of The Lion King will take over the scoring duties for the upcoming Superman reboot. Which, you know, seems like kind of a "duh" to us. He's the composer du jour for epic action movies.
We realize that not everyone pays attention to movie composers, but whether he's a household name to you or not, you are intimately familiar with Zimmer's compositions. Here's a small sampling:
