Thor 2 Loses Mads Mikkelsen

The Casino Royale villain will be too busy playing Hannibal Lector to visit the Marvel Universe.

Thor 2 just lost yet another cast member: Mads Mikkelsen, the former Casino Royale villain expected by many fans to play The Executioner in the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel, has been forced to bow out due to his responsibilities to "Hannibal," the NBC television series where he will play Thomas Harris's infamous serial killer Hannibal Lector.

In the above interview with Zoom.In.Uk behind the scenes of his new movie Move On – which means it isn't technically Comic Con news but is otherwise impeccably timed – Mikkelsen admits that the timing just didn't work out, and that he won't be in Thor 2 after all. Mikkelsen will be the second actor forced to drop out of Thor 2 due to scheduling commitments with a television series, after the superhero sequel lost Josh Dallas to "Once Upon a Time."
