Jurassic Park IV Concept Art Unleashed Online

Dinosaur/Human hybrids? It almost happened, even though Frank Marshall called it 'another rumor.'

Here's a movie we accidentally let off of our Top Eleven Movies That Never Got Made: Jurassic Park IV, aka 'The Silly One.' Many moons ago, a fourth Jurassic Park was rumored to be in development featuring dinosaur/human hybrids outfitted with high-tech weaponry. It was a famously awful idea that never got very far out of development, despite a screenplay by John Sayles (Lone Star) and producer Frank Marshall's insistence that it was "another rumor." But if you were wondering what might have been, Badass Digest has put some of the pieces together for you by locating some of the (obviously unused) concept art online.

These images from concept artist Carlos Huante (Prometheus) show off some of the hybrid designs from the disused draft of Jurassic Park IV, and many are already calling them eerily reminiscent of the design of The Lizard from Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man. But really, any "lizard man" with a tail and no snout is going to look pretty danged similar.

Regardless of what you think of the concept, which could actually make a pretty fun movie (albeit a seriously goofy one), this concept art – head over to Badass Digest for even more examples – represents some quality work and creative thinking. We love the triceratops in particular. If you give him a stogie and put him in a Guillermo Del Toro movie, we think he'd be a breakout character.

What say you? Did we dodge a bullet here or would you actually have wanted to see this version of Jurassic Park IV?
