Give it up to director Antoine Fuqua…he's now locked down the ultimate in Die Hard-esque movie pitch lines…
"It's 'Die Hard'…in the White House!"
That's the premise behind the Training Day director's new action-apalooza epic Olympus Has Fallen…and from the looks of this new red band clip (that means it ain't safe for work, folks), fans of loud, raucous action sequences and grand scale mayhem are gonna be flipping out over this movie when it's released Mar. 22 in the U.S. (Australia: Apr. 4, U.K.: Apr. 19).
When the White House (Secret Service Code: "Olympus") is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning¹s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President (Morgan Freeman), and avert an even bigger crisis.
We are a little confused, though…Considering that during Freeman's last term in office in 1998's deliciously fun Deep Impact he presided over the near destruction of all humanity, we're really surprised he got elected to a second term. And now, he's got terrorists to fight off! Most unlucky…president…ever.
The rest of Fuqua's all-star cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd and Rick Yune.
