Principal photography wrapped this month for Saw VI, and the good people over at Bloody-Disgusting were on hand to dig up anything and everything they could about the sixth film in the massive horror franchise. While they didn't dig up any gory details, there a few spoileriffic details were discussed, so if you're the wait-and-see type it may be time to click away now. Those of you that just want the details, read on:
The principal cast of Saw VI is Costas Mandylor as Detective Hoffman, Mark Rolston as FBI Agent Erickson, Betsy Russell as Jill (Jigsaw's former wife), Tobin Bell as Jigsaw, Shawnee Smith as Amanda, and Peter Outerbridge as William. The movie will reportedly follow Hoffman, the successor of Jigsaw's legacy. He is being hunted by the FBI, and as they close in, Hoffman starts a game into motion that finally unveils Jigsaw's grand scheme.
Costas Mandylor, who plays Hoffman in the film, spoke about conflicts his character faces in the film. "The maturity of Tobin's character shows the rough edges Hoffman is still showing," he said. "(Hoffman) sort of torn of becoming a mad man or becoming a guy that's more composed, coming from a pure place like Jigsaw. That's my character's dilemma; does he go fucking crazy or follow the rules of the boss?"
He went on to reveal a bit as to what we can expect from Jigsaw's former wife, Jill. "You find out a little more about if Jill is good or evil. I don't know if it was ever answered in the previous ones."
Betsy Russell, who plays Jill, followed up with a bit more info on her character, specifically Jill's relationship with Jigsaw: "We have an amazing love affair and I have a reason to be with him," she explained. "She is definitely in the present main plot, as well as, flashbacks with more backstory to answer more questions."

Well that certainly adds a new layer to this torturous little onion, doesn't it? The film doesn't open until October 23 (just in time for Halloween! Awesome), so we'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds. But director Kevin Greutert had some promising news for the film as well.
"To me, Saw VI has finality to it and that's something I've always wanted to see in the series. Obviously, there was finality to Saw III but to me, this is the end of a second trilogy."
