A U.S. government satellite that’s picked up a deadly microorganism out in space crashes to earth and lands in a small, fictional town in Utah. Two teens find the orbiter and take it back to town, where they open it and inadvertently release an extra-terrestrial nightmare. A team is sent from the bio-defense unit of the Army to retrieve the satellite, only to discover a town that’s been wiped out by the mysterious new arrival. The team soon comes to discover the horror that awaits them, which has been code-named Andromeda.
Government cover-ups, advanced alien technology, countdowns to nuclear destruction – how much better can it get? With a budget of $15 million, the mini-series was extremely well put together, features a compelling storyline with excellent special effects and performances by the cast.
