Punch-Out!!
From the theme music to the goofy characters, Punch-Out has been a staple in gamer culture since it's release on the NES. Most fans can regale anyone with stories of wonder and amusement as they took down King Hippo oh-so-many years ago.
Nintendo knows that this series garners a ton of support, so they've been working to bring back the glory and have done so with Punch-Out!!. It's graphically toony and pleasing and a heck of a lot of fun to play. Single player is challenging as you'll need to learn opponent's tells before they strike. Think fast and dodge, that's the name of the game in Punch-Out!!.
Tiger Woods 10 w/ Wii MotionPlus
Tiger Woods titles almost always leak into my collection because of my desire to spend more time on the links. When spring hits I get this obnoxious urge to play some video golf, and Tiger Woods is basically the only place to turn. Up until this year I've been ignoring the Wii iterations, citing controls, graphics and online communication as the major downfalls. But Wii MotionPlus impressed my pants off at E3, so I figured I'd rush in and buy the bundle.
Tiger Woods 10 with Wii MotionPlus is, to-date, one of the greatest forms of virtual golf I have ever experienced. No, they aren't joking, MotionPlus is 1:1 in terms of real movement and that replicated in the game. If your fake club face is open or closed, you're going to see your mistake play out exactly as it should in the game.
Add all that to the fact that this game is completely packed with mini-games, courses (27!), unlockables, multiplayer and an extremely difficult career mode. Oh, and Disc Golf? Yeah, Disc Golf is actually my favorite portion of Tiger Woods 10. All 27 courses have been used and tooled for epic rounds of Disc Golf. My only complaint with the game mode is that you can't take it online.
