In fact, the graphics of InFamous across the board are fantastic. Being an open world game means the engine is obviously going to be scaled back to cater to the hundreds of characters and buildings on screen at once. But InFamous takes it all in stride and really shows what the Playstation 3 is capable of for this type of game. Sore spots only begin to show when Cole gets involved in a conversation with another NPC character. Cole looks great, but the other AI characters running around look like garbage in comparison, with very little definition in their faces, and lip synching that reminds us of Playstation 2 titles. But once again, for the sheer scale of InFamous, this isn't a huge letdown. Some day we will reach the point where open world environments will have the same graphical power as titles with a more narrowed focus such as Uncharted or Metal Gear Solid 4, but until then, InFamous is one of the best looking games the sandbox world genre has to offer.

There are a lot of reasons why InFamous is a good purchase. The gameplay is fun and quick to pick up, the graphics are great, the weaponry only gets more and more badass as you continue to play, and the game has a pretty decent story. However, the experience isn't perfect, evident from the various problems and nitpicks we discussed throughout this review. But is InFamous the best open world super-hero game yet? Absolutely. Sucker Punch has done a hell of a job here, delivering an open world game with enough variety so things never become repetitive or stale throughout the entire narrative of Cole learning exactly who/what he is.
