Street Fighter IV
System: PC
Release Date: 7/07/2009
Do not adjust your monitors, this is not a misprint. July is finally when the PC gets Street Fighter IV.
Oh Street Fighter IV, the game solely responsible for renewing my faith in the fighting genre. There isn't much else to say about the game outside of what has already been said. With an amazingly distinct and jaw-dropping style, and gameplay that feels right at home with the Street Fighter franchise, reminding gamers why the series has always been considered king, Street Fighter IV is one of the best titles to be release this year. It also proves, without a shadow of a doubt, 2-D fighters are still the pinnacle of the genre. 3-D be damned!
Now as for the PC version of the game, what has an extra four months of development added? Sadly, not much. But that's a testament to how solid the game was when it originally released on consoles. However, the PC version does benefit from higher resolutions and also has three new graphical filters built in to tweak the in-game presentation to your choosing. the three filter styles include "watercolor," "poster," and "Sumi-E ink." The Sumi-E ink style is definitely an eye-catcher because it transforms the graphics into a style reminiscent of the game's intro cinematic, although not as distinct.
