Virtua Tennis 2009
System: Multi-platform
Release Date: 6/9/2009
What's this? Two tennis games making our top ten titles of June 2009? You best believe it! If you're a stranger to Virtua Tennis then you've either never walked into an arcade, or never owned a Sega Dreamcast. To some respect, I can understand the later, but take our word for it, Virtua Tennis was one of the best games to release on the Dreamcast, and the franchise remains the best place to go for easy pick-up-and-play tennis. The graphics are great, the controls are a piece of cake, and the fun factor remains off the charts. Now it's strange to see the Virtua Tennis series becoming a yearly endeavor, much like EA Sports titles, but this latest version has more players, more courts, more training mini-games, and even a new character creation mode. This look to be the definitive version of Virtua Tennis, and that's a very very good thing.
