
Warner Bros. Owns Midway

In a weird way, this story is kind of sad. Midway, once a gaming giant, has been bought out for only $33 million by Warner Bros. as they were the only ones to put forth a serious offer for the company. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The $33 million bid bought out the majority of Midway's major assets including the development studios in Chicago (Mortal Kombat, Strangehold) and Seattle (The Suffering, This Is Vegas) and also the rights to new and old IPs.
Still left out in purgatory are Midway's San Diego and Newcastle studios. With Newcastle, the makers of Wheelman, currently searching for a new home.
Sega Genesis Handheld Coming In July

The Nomad, Sega's portable Genesis, has returned! The system, now called the Retro Gen, is being released on July 25th here in the US for the cost of 5,000 pennies, or $50, by a company called Innex. The Retro Gen will not only play official Genesis/ Mega Drive carts but also games saved to an SD card using a special development cart. The handheld sports a built-in battery chargable via USB and a button layout remeniscent of the Genesis' second, more improved controller. So dust off your copies of Toe Jam & Earl and Ecco the Dolphin, it's time to get nostalgic.
Gran Turismo PSP Is A Graphical Powerhouse

These screens that have recently popped online for Gran Turismo for PSP look unreal. And by that we don't mean they look fake, but in fact they look so good that it doesn't seem possible for the PSP. Some speculation has concluded that these are shots from a cutscene of the game but a lot of folks--ones who got their hands on the game at E3--have come out and said the shots are legit.
