I’d love to have been a fly on the wall at the Capcom design meeting that birthed “Seth”, allegedly the new final boss of Street Fighter IV...
Lead Designer: Ooh! Remember that nearly naked guy from Street Fighter III that no one else remembers?

Assistant Lead Designer: Uh, no…

Lead Designer: The guy in the loincloth! What was his name… Gill? Urien?

Assistant Lead Designer: Oh yeah! The dude with his bum hanging out of the little diaper thing!

Lead Designer: Right! So my idea is, let’s take that character, but make him like a dickless blue freak like Dr. Manhattan in “Watchmen”!

Assistant Lead Designer: Perfect! Let’s also put a yin yang symbol in the middle of his torso so he looks kinda like that retarded, half-assed Todd McFarlane character that he did for Soul Calibur!

Lead Designer: Brilliant! Now lets go make Chun Li’s thighs even thicker!

Assistant Lead Designer: And her hands bigger too! That’ll make everyone want to watch a Street Fighter movie about her and only her next year!

Clearly the inspiration for "Seth".

In addition to Seth, I’ve heard rumblings that “Gouken” will also be a playable or boss character at some point. Gouken is sort of the official “Shen Long” type character, the dude who trained Ken and Ryu and possibly even Akuma’s brother or something. He looks pretty much exactly like Akuma only he has a great bushy beard.

Awesome! Now we can have Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Dan, Sagat, Akuma and now Gouken using essentially the same fighting style! Neato!
