Sequels and franchises are the very foundation of the current video game industry, much as they are in Hollywood these days. However, there have always been, and will always be, a large chunk of sequels or spin-offs that come from games that nobody ever gave a second thought about, or simply felt no desire to play a follow up. Often times, we as gamers are completely surprised at the publisher's willingness to continually release these games, though every rendition is met with lacking fanfare and mediocre reviews at best. CraveOnline has compiled a list paying tribute to these games, as the top 10 game sequels that we never asked for, but got anyway.
10. Metal Gear Solid VR Missions

Metal Gear Solid was a gaming smash hit when it was released, and the fanfare was such that a sequel was inevitable. However, before we got our mitts on MGS 2, we had to wade through a release that I don't recall anyone asking for. Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions took what were a fun distraction in the main game and stretched them into a completely separate retail title. While the VR Missions from both games are genuinely entertaining, trying to offset demand for a full on sequel by introducing a spin-off sequel that there was never any real desire for.
