8. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

By the time Wrath of Cortex was released in 2001, the new generation of consoles had just taken hold. Crash Bandicoot had started in 1996, with success to the point of becoming Sony's unofficial mascot for the original PlayStation. However, by this point, the 3D platforming craze was over, and there had been multiple sequels to the original Crash Bandicoot that offered gamers nothing new.
That's not to say the games were bad, and neither is Wrath of Cortex. In fact, most games on this list aren't terrible games by any means. But any gamer that says a new (but still old) Crash game was on the forefront of their next-gen minds is just lying. However, it pains me to see a publisher milk a franchise that lost its steam, especially at the birth of a new generation. Thankfully, Naughty Dog jumped ship for this game, and instead gave way to Jak & Daxter.
