DC comics finally gives the fans what they have been asking for with a Justice League team that features most of the major characters. Producer Ades was careful as to not specifically give the number of characters in the game saying: “we have announced eleven playable characters to date” but I suspect that more unlockable characters will be announced, or found by players as the game is launched.

One unique feature of the game is the unlockable costumes feature. The characters have multiple costumes, some unique to the game and some from the character’s history. With the Flash you can use his classic bright red costume or the Golden Age Jay Garrick (below) costume. Superman has several looks including a Kandorian (below) suit and black recovery suit. Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern all have multiple costumes and the Martian Manhunter can even switch to his true alien form.

The character play is unique to each hero. The developers did not recycle movements which allowed for a more diverse playing experience. Depending on what type of game you choose (Team or Solo mission) the locations may change. A Superman game may have you spending a lot of time in Metropolis while a JL team game may have you in space at the Justic League HQ, The Watchtower. J'onn J'onz's homeland of Mars, Gotham City and Gorilla City are all locations in the game

There are also unlockable powers in the game for all of the characters. Some powers are new to the characters. Some character powers may even show up later in storylines within the DC universe as this game has some direct ties to the actual comic continuity. Justice League also has a accompanying comic book that should find its way to Comic shops around release time.

Warner Brother brought out the big guns in fan favorite voice talent and writing. Award winning comic book and animation writer Dwayne McDuffie (Static Shock, Justice League, Teen Titans) wrote the story. The voice talent for JLH includes: Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Justice League TV series) as Batman; Michael Jai White (Spawn) as Green Lantern; Crispin Freeman (Kingdom Hearts II) as Superman; and Ralph Garman (Family Guy,The Joe Schmo Show) as Green Arrow.

Game play moves from land to air. There is Air to ground combat, fully destructible environments, and 1 and 2 player game play.
The villains of the game include Brianiac, Gorilla Grood (below), Queen Bee, The Key, Killer Frost and Doomsday.

The Justice League Heroes videogame will be available on the PlayStation and Xbox. The PSP version based on the console game will be available in November. The gave will also be available for the Nintendo DS system as well as a variation of the game featuring The Flash for the Game Boy Advance system. A podcast featuring the prequel story to the game in comic book format is available now on the iTunes Store and is viewable on video iPods.

Justice League Heroes will be released on October 17th.
