Happy Gamers Day

A yearly poem for all the gamers out there.

Happy Gamers Day

Every year (since 2006) the team over at GEN [The Girls Entertainment Network] have put together a poem to celebrate the day after Christmas.   With all the games and peripherals we recieve from Santa, we have fondly dubbed Dec. 26th as Gamers Day!

This year, I would like to share this poem with you.   Please enjoy and have a happy Gamers Day!

GAMERS DAY
by Becky Young

‘Twas the day after Christmas… And all through the house…
All the gamers were playing with TRON controllers and mouse.
The new games were stacked by the flat screen with care
In hopes that more gamers soon would be there

The n00blings were gathered by the PS3 Lite
While a red Wii and Mario came into sight
The Xbox 360 had gotten quite fit
and a brand new Kinect was plugged into it.

When out in the den there arose such a clatter
I put down COD to see what was the matter.
Away to the den I ran with glee
I tripped over my cousin playing Epic Mickey

The TV was giving off a warm friendly glow
And I heard a crowd cheering for what? I don’t know
When what should my wondering eyes come to find
But another Guitar Hero; Warriors of Rock this time.

Halo:Reach was being played in the den
and a Dance Central party had begun with my friends.
They all looked like fools trying to do Soulja Boy
But I just had to smile at the sight of their joy.

My grandpa had dropped the Move wand once again
and on the PC was "Ca-tack-a-lism"
Assasins Creed: Brotherhood was ready to que
While my brother and sister played Starcraft 2

I glanced at the systems in front of me
And wondered how lucky I could possibly be.
I ran up to my laptop to blog while they played
And to wish all my friends a Happy Gamers Day!
