Activision Sues EA Games

Activision seeks compensation from competition over West and Zampella drama.

The drama kick-started by Activision's firing of ex-Infinity Ward heads, Jason West and Vince Zampella, is not quite over yet. Activision is now pointing the gun at EA Games and wants $400 million from the company for trying to pull the IW-duo away from Activision before their contract expired.

Apparently, Activision believes EA "intentionally interfere with contracts, engaged in unfair competition and aided and abetted breaches of fiduciary duty by the executives."

This all spins out of the supposed fact that EA Games talked to West and Zampella through a talent agency, Creative Artists, before the Infinity Ward executives finished work on Modern Warfare 2 and their contracts ran up.

This $400 million lawsuit is "to prevent Electronic Arts and the former executives from benefiting from their illegal conduct," so says Activision.

In other news, the latest Call of Duty title, Black Ops, has exceeded $1 billion in global sales.
