I think I speak for everyone when I say, "son of a bitch!" EA Sports has confirmed that the Wii version of NBA Jam will not include online multiplayer. Lame-sauce.
While the Wii has never been known as an online intensive console, there is no better game to take advantage of the competitive nature of human-kind quite like NBA Jam.
What's even more perplexing is that other EA Sports titles on the Wii, games like Tiger Woods, Madden NFL and FIFA, all take advantage of the Wii's limited internet access for online play.
While the Nintendo Wii version of NBA Jam does include the "Remix Tour," featuring boss battles with classic players (Dr. J and Magic Johnson to name a few), and single player and local co-op challenges, it's still no excess to exclude the most sought-after feature for the upcoming arcade basketball game.
But since NBA Elite 11 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will include a glorified demo of NBA Jam, one with online multiplayer included, it almost feels like you need to buy two incomplete versions of the same game, one on Wii and one on X360/PS3, to get the full game everyone wanted in the first place. Damn you, EA Sports. You're killing us!
