Now it’s official. Microsoft’s controller-less gaming camera device has officially been priced at $149.99. That price point matches a lot of rumors circulating the web at the retail level over the last month or so. Also, with your purchase of Kinect you’ll receive a free copy of Kinect Adventure (the casual rafting game).

Pricing of Kinect title has also been announced. Games will retail for $50 instead of the $60 standard Xbox 360 title. That includes not only Kinect Adventure, Kinectimals, Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride and other first party Kinect title, but also includes Harmonix’s Dance Central.
But the announcements out of Microsoft didn’t stop there. Microsoft also unveiled a new model of the Xbox 360 that will replace the current “Arcade” version of the console. This new 4gb console will cost $200 and have the same look as the 250gb Xbox 360 Slim but feature a matte finish and goes on sale August 3, 2010 in North America.
You’ll also be able to purchase a Kinect/ Xbox 360 bundle that will include the new, sleeker 4gb Xbox 360 Slim, the Microsoft Kinect device and Kinect Adventures for $300. "We think this is really a tremendous value," Aaron Greenberg of Microsoft said. "We believe the launch of this product is going to be driving a whole new series of new consumers into the Xbox 360 family."

So there you have it. $150 for the baseline Kinect with a game. Worth the investment?
