It's official. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be hitting North American retail shelves on May 25, 2010. That's three days before Europe's launch of May 28 (we can do math!), and two months after Japan gets to take Naked Snake for a spin on May 18, 2010.
Kojima Production's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a big deal as it's essentially Metal Gear Solid 5, says Hideo Kojima. The game will fill in the gaps of the Metal Gear saga and detail exactly how Naked Snake fully embraced his role as "Big Boss," the fabled Metal Gear quasi-villian.
There are also sneaky intentions for why the game is on the PSP. But Sony sees the potential in the move, with David Daniels, Diretor of Marketing for Konami, saying, "featuring an original story created by legendary game designer, Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a title that has serious sales potential, Kojima Productions has pushed the limits of the PSP system and we cannot wait to unveil their latest addition to the Metal Gear franchise to gamers this coming May."
