New Medal of Honor is More Realistic Than Ever

The current war on terror invades EA's fps franchise

After being bullied aside by the bigger and stronger Call of Duty franchise, EA's Medal of Honor series is making a triumphant return by ditching the World War II setting and heading straight into present day battlegrou.....wait, what? Hasn't that already been done, like twice now even?

Well yes, but Medal of Honor has an ace in the hole! EA's relaunch of the series will create the most realistic modern war game to date. Instead of taking the route of no brains, blockbuster spectacle that Activision and Infinity Ward went for with the Modern Warfare series.  Medal of Honor will be set in modern day Afghanistan and follow the Tier 1 Operators, "a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle."

And to make sure the game is as authentic as possible, EA has enlisted the help of actual Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community, who have been involved with the project since "the earliest stages of the game's development."

As as espected, you can see the game's true unveiling at Spike TV's 2009 Video Game Awards on Saturday, December 12 at 8 pm PST.

Check out the game's box art below with a man that isn't as sharply dressed as I would have thought, and click the image to big-afy.
