For gamers that love sports (yes, they do exist) but don't care for the micro-managing of a franchise in sporting video games, EA Sports will soon be pushing out a product directly aimed at them. Announced today by EA Sports is Madden NFL Arcade; a fun, pick-up-and-play, 5-on-5 football game aimed to satisfy both the die-hard veterans of Madden football and the casual gamers that know enough about football to know it's barely played with your feet.

Graphically mirroring Madden NFL 10 for the Nintendo Wii, Madden NFL Arcade will be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network Store for 1200 MS Points and $14.99, respectively.

“When you look around the office and see your whole team playing and having tons of fun with it, you know the game hit the right mark,” said marketing director Nathan Stewart.  “We have diehard Madden fans who have worked on the franchise for a decade, and more casual gamers who are all playing together and enjoying it.  If our productivity the past few weeks is any indication, we’ve created a game that everyone will love.”

Madden NFL Arcade will include all 32 NFL teams, each with their own distinct stadiums, and five of the team's best players from both sides of the ball will be playable. The field has been cut down from 100 yards to 60, and you have 4 downs, no more no less, to drive down for six points. Field goals are not an options. Madden NFL Arcade will also have no penalties, so prepare for an experience reminiscent of NFL Blitz; minus the drugs and slutty cheerleaders.

You can also spice up the gameplay in Madden NFL Arcade with "Game Changers" that let you, for example, add an entourage of lineman to help get you a sack, freeze an oppossing player, turn off your opponent's passing icons, and so much more.

Madden NFL Arcade is being prepped as the premiere football video game for the party atmosphere, allowing up to four players to play co-op on a single console.  You can also take on the world online in head-to-head matches and track your performance via interactive leaderboards.

Look for Madden NFL Arcade before year's end on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.
