The Madden Curse has struck again. And EA thought they could thwart the inevitable by placing two stars on the cover of this year's annual grid-iron romp.
Troy Polamalu went down last night with a sprained MCL. The Steelers were playing the Titans in Pittsburgh in a game they wound up winning in overtime. As the first half came to a close, the Titans were set to attempt about a 30-yard field goal. The Steelers blocked it and Polamalu went to pick up the ball when Alge Crumpler, Titan's TE, fell on the Steeler's Safety.
Polamalu had already demonstrated his Madden 10 cover-winning prowess in the first half of this season opener. He led both teams with 6 tackles and landed a disgusting one-handed pick.
So that's one for two where Madden 10's cover stars are concerned. Polamalu will be out for three to six weeks. I've contacted Miss Cleo about Larry Fitzgerald, but no luck so far.
Review - Madden 10.
