If you're in the group of gamer's that never had the chance to play God of War or its sequel, God of War 2, because you either never had a Playstation 2, or your Playstation 3 isn't backwards compatible, now is your chance.
A few months back Sony put up a survey asking God of War fans what they would want in a collector's edition of God of War III. The input was astronomical. But most fans all agreed that a version of God of War and God of War II playable on a PS3 was the most important. And Sony has answered.
Officially announced is the God of War Collection, a Blu-Ray disc containing both the first and second game remastered at 60 frames-per-second, 720p graphics and Playstation Network Trophy support for the price of only $39.99. That's an amazing deal.
"We are excited today to announce God of War Collection," said Scott Rohde, vice president of Sony Worldwide Studios America. "Our fans spoke and we listened; thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning 720p on PS3. This Blu-ray Disc compilation brings Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected."
Awesome news, and speaking as someone that never got a crack at God of War II, I'm pretty damn excited to play it before God of War III launches.
